Phew.

I haven't exactly been keeping up with the blog but for good reason. I have been cleaning the house, top to bottom, which was/is a huge undertaking! I've been super tired but I will get some photos up of Mia, her gifts, and our guests(which are not going to be here until the 26th now) after some of the hoopla dies down.

Mia is just so stinkin' cute lately. We got her bangs cut a little shorter a few days ago since her hair grows soooo fast and she kept getting hair in her eyes. Cute.

Busy little bee...

Mia has been quite the social butterfly the last few days. We've been spending time with Lindsey and Lily(of course), had a play date, went on some errands, had a photo shoot...phew. No wonder I've been so tired. hehe.

Mia and Meadow... cheesin!!

In other news... Mia can count to five!!!! Genius! It sounds like "won, doo, wee, wah, why" since she can't say her "F", "B", "P", "M" words as well . Totally cute!

Poo bottom, Mop top.

8j888u;ljku88jkl8 }-*=] \bvgffffffffff 2022,3 (says Mia)

Mia has been full of accomplishments in the last 24 hours! Besides typing(haha) she's counted, saying "2,3,5", she's clearly sung along well to Wow! Wow! Wubbzy, and she said "all done"! Yay kid! It's like she's been waiting to get all this stuff out.

We did have a poop fiasco this morning, very early this morning. Kyle was leaving for work and Mia started to cry. I naturally assumed that it was just because she heard him moving around the house and his truck engine vibrates the walls a little too. Well, he left and I gave her a few more minutes to calm down before I got out of my toasty warm bed. No such luck, her crying got louder and more frantic. As soon as I started to get up I could smell the smell. The "I pooped all over" smell. It's a distinct stench that mothers everywhere fear. I'm making that last bit up but I knew it was bad. This was definitively Karma... at her best I might add. While I was having a blast at MNO with the girls I cursed myself by saying "Mia hasn't pooped today... haha Kyle will have to change a dirty diaper." She didn't poop all day Sunday either which I failed to realize until this moment, this incredibly stinky moment.
I opened her bedroom door and the funk hit me, like a giant pile of hot garbage and peanut butter. Gross. Mia was clearly upset and there were the telltale signs of a blowout; stains on previously clean sheets, strategecally located spots on pants, and my least favorite of all, poop up the back. Luckily I had dressed Mia in layers last night due to a dramatic temperature drop. The first layer mostly contained what would've been a much worse mess. I turned on the tub because no amount of wipes would've cleaned up this mess. I got her out of bed and into the bathroom and carefully started removing layers and depositing them into a biohazard bag(aka plastic kmart bag). Into the tub she went. Scrub, scrub, scrub! Tada!
I had high hopes, being 6:30am, that Mia would fall back into a lovely and squeaky clean sleep. Wrong. She was in bed long enough for her hair to dry into a hillarious mop. The photos don't do it justice.

It's kind of a Donald Trump/powdered wig combo thing. So funny.

Better...

Luckily we are feeling much better today. My tummy is still a little off but Mia ate much more food today. She had a peanut butter sandwich, tomato crunchies, and applesauce for dinner! That sure beats a teething cookie, which is all she's been getting down. She was still a little pale today but after she had her vitamins she perked right up.

Mia's speech therapist came by today and is continually impressed by Mia's chattiness! Mia is making such great sounds and what sound like real words. I think I'm the one who needs to get her hearing checked because when it's quiet and I'm really paying attention Mia is saying a whole lot! Cute as can be!

Heave ho...

So we've all been horrendously sick with the worst flu bug. We are getting better but still not 100%. Hopefully tomorrow will be a huge turn around. Our tummy's have taken quite a forceful bit of revenge on us. Mia didn't seem fazed by being sick, oddly, but her bed and pj's were quite the mess. Kyle got the worst of it but I had to persevere through my cold sweats and weakness to tend to them. I think I truly understand what it means to be a mother now.

(Also, I lost 6lbs. haha.)

Derrricious!

Mia and I had the BEST dinner last night! We went with some friends to Kobe Japanese Steakhouse, yummy! I tried sushi for the first time, yummy! We had steak, shrimp, and fried rice made right in front of us on the hibachi, yummy! It was amazing! Mia was very interested in what was going on. She was only a little scared of the fire right at the end but overall it was pretty entertaining. I can't wait to go back! Did I mention it was yummy? :)

Christmas Party!

This afternoon we had our play group's Secret Santa party. (For those of you who don't know, I am the organizer of a local play group called Connect the Tots.) Mia had so much fun! She's so funny when she's around large groups of kids. She just runs around clapping and saying 'Yay!'... cute.

We got some awesome gifts too! Mia got a totally rad guitar from her secret santa, Aubree, and I got a little water fountain. Lindsey even got Mia her very first Cabbage Patch doll! Super cute!

We had tons of fun today and I can't wait for our photo shoot in the park tomorrow and sushi after! Yum!

We Love Ebay!

We just got a new 9 piece bedding set on ebay for Mia! Only $50 plus shipping, it retails for $200. I also got some cute abstract black and teal Alice in Wonderland fabric to make some pillows too. Hopefully when Erik comes back home I can get him to agree to letting me paint her bedroom walls.

The First of December!

We had such a fun day today. We spent the day at Lindsey's (of course, haha.) and Diana dropped Aubree off so she could go to her first OB appointment for the new bun. We had fun with the girls watching movies and we even went outside to play. It was pretty chilly since the wind was blowing so hard but the kids had fun playing with balls and, in Lily's case, eating some dirt. Yum.

After we left, Mia and I went to Kmart to pick up a few little things. She was soooo sleepy. She fell fast asleep on the way home around 5:30pm and has been sound asleep ever since. What a busy day for our little girl.
